YOUR BIG DAY!  MAY 25, 2019

REPORT TIME

Parents, plan to drop your senior off at Littleton High School on graduation day.  Students must be seated in the LHS gym by 7 am.

DO NO DROP YOUR STUDENT AT DU.  The district will transport graduating seniors to the Ritchie Center.

If your student drives to school that morning, he or she will need to return to LHS after the ceremony to pick up the car.  This is why we suggest that you DROP YOUR STUDENT OFF.

Don’t be late.

PERSONAL ITEMS

Seniors should not bring anything of value to the ceremony:  We will have boxes for car keys, but will not be responsible for purses, cell phones, or other bulky items.

APPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR FOR GRADUATION CEREMONY

The Littleton High School graduation ceremony reflects over one hundred years of school pride and tradition.  The Board of Education, honored guests, and faculty wear formal academic regalia. Graduates wear purple gowns and gold stoles to designate their honors status.  This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that recognizes the completion of 13 years of formal education, and the beginning of adulthood.  It is an important ceremony and it creates a memory that parents and students will treasure throughout their lives.  Because of the importance of this occasion, we ask that you celebrate this ceremony with pride, respect, and dignity.

Spectators can help a great deal by not applauding, cheering, whistling, etc., when a favorite student's name is called.  The noise from this action prevents the next student's name from being heard.  We will ask you to hold your applause.

We expect graduates to display the utmost respect to all speakers and program participants.  Inappropriate behavior (bubbles, water balloons, beach balls, etc.) by graduating seniors will be addressed by escorts and staff members.  If inappropriate behavior continues, the disruptive graduate will be escorted from the graduation ceremony, and his or her diploma will be withheld until a later date. It is our sincere desire that this will not occur.  We do not want anyone to be embarrassed.

The Ritchie Center has specific rules that we must all follow.  They are included on this page.

GRADUATION PHOTOGRAPHS

Lifetouch will be photographing each graduate and sending complimentary proofs to each graduate’s home. They will also be providing a commemorative Senior Panoramic Picture that will be available to order online. Parents can go online now to sign up for notifications of when proofs are available to view and order online.

Go to Events.Lifetouch.com/LittletonHS.

During the ceremony, guests will only be able to take photos from the arena stands. No guests will be allowed on the floor of the arena at any time.

DIPLOMA PICK-UP

During the ceremony, students will receive the cover of their diploma.  Actual diplomas will be distributed in the Hamilton Gymnasium after the ceremony.  Students will have gathered in this space prior to entering the arena for their ceremony, and they will know how to return after they toss their caps.

CAP/GOWN DONATION

There will be a drop-off station in the Hamilton Gymnasium for students who wish to donate their cap and gown.  This is a great way to help another student in years to come.

FINDING YOUR GRADUATE

After the ceremony, families and guests will exit the Ritchie Center from the concourse level toward the west side of the building, near the soccer and lacrosse fields.  All graduates will exit from the lower level of the west side of the building.  You will find each other outside the building.

RETURN TO LHS

If a student needs to return to LHS after the ceremony to retrieve a vehicle, LHS buses will be available. Please go to the Student Services Office by May 17th to reserve a seat on the return bus.
