MANDATORY SENIOR CLASS GRADUATION MEETING
WEDNESDAY, MAY 5th, 2021
DURING SEMINAR

GRADUATION CEREMONY

  • The 2021 Littleton High School graduation ceremony will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 22nd at Littleton Public Schools Stadium.
  •  In the past, graduations at the LPS stadium have been open to all-no tickets required.  This spring, LPS expect COVID restrictions will require us to issue tickets to each graduate, and that seating will be socially distanced by family group.  The graduation ceremony will be live-streamed so that family and friends can watch from home.
  • COVID REQUIREMENTS, TICKETS, AND MASKS-

Our understanding is that on May 16th, Arapahoe County is scheduled to move to level “clear” on the COVID dial.  Once this occurs, it’s possible that tickets will not be required for graduation; the stadium would offer open seating.  That’s our hope!

However, because we cannot be 100% sure that will happen, we are going to plan for a ticketed graduation just in case.  Here’s the plan for tickets:

  • Each graduate will receive five tickets at cap and gown distribution.

  • All guests will need a ticket.

  • Guests will sit in groups of 5.

  • Extra tickets will be distributed in groups of 5 by lottery.

  • Students who wish to enter the lottery for extra tickets should submit their name to Student Services (Ms. Nancy Schaef) by MONDAY, May 10th.  Those tickets will also be distributed at cap and gown distribution. We will let you know as soon as we have more information. WHETHER tickets will be needed.  Please act as if they will be, and enter the lottery if you need additional tickets.

STEP ONE:  PAYMENT OF OUTSTANDING FINES

  • All fines and fees must be paid to the bookkeeper before a student may complete the required Senior Exit Interview or pick up cap and gown.
  • Fines and fees can be viewed on Infinite Campus and may be paid directly to the bookkeeper, or through RevTrack (on our website) using a credit card.
  • The bookkeeper’s phone number is 303-347-7711.

STEP TWO:  MANDATORY SENIOR EXIT INTERVIEWS – May 10th-14th

  • All seniors must complete a 15-minute senior exit interview the week of May 10th in the Post Grad Center. No appointment is needed.
  • Students should bring with them the scholarship award worksheet that they receive at their class meeting on May 5th.

STEP THREE:  CAP AND GOWN DISTRIBUTION

Students will receive Cap and Gown in May.  Stay tuned for more details about the process.

STEP FOUR:  PREPARING YOUR CAP AND GOWN

  • Press your robe with a cool iron, or hang it for a couple of days.
  • If the cap does not fit, you can make adjustments to it, trade with someone else, or contact Student Services for further assistance.
  • There will be a tassel with your cap. ***There are no extra tassels, so do not lose yours!***

STEP FIVE:  WHAT TO WEAR ON GRADUATION DAY

Plan carefully!  Administrators will send students home to change if their attire is not appropriate. In order for our graduates to make the best appearance as a group and to participate in the ceremony, we require the following:

  • Boys
    • shirt with collar (no tank tops)
    • slacks (no jeans or shorts)
    • dress shoes (no flip-flops, tennis shoes, hiking boots)
  • Girls
    • dress or dress slacks (no jeans or shorts)
    • dress shoes – flats are best (no flip-flops, tennis shoes, hiking boots)

YOUR BIG DAY!  MAY 22nd, 2021

REPORT TIME

Parents, plan to drop your senior off at Littleton High School on graduation day.  Students must be seated in the LHS Sounth Gym by 8:30 am.

Don’t be late.

PERSONAL ITEMS

Seniors should not bring anything of value to the ceremony:  We will have boxes for car keys, but will not be responsible for purses, cell phones, or other bulky items.

APPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR FOR GRADUATION CEREMONY

The Littleton High School graduation ceremony reflects over one hundred years of school pride and tradition.  The Board of Education, honored guests, and faculty wear formal academic regalia. Graduates wear purple gowns and gold stoles to designate their honors status.  This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that recognizes the completion of 13 years of formal education, and the beginning of adulthood.  It is an important ceremony and it creates a memory that parents and students will treasure throughout their lives.  Because of the importance of this occasion, we ask that you celebrate this ceremony with pride, respect, and dignity.

Spectators can help a great deal by not applauding, cheering, whistling, etc., when a favorite student's name is called.  The noise from this action prevents the next student's name from being heard.  We will ask you to hold your applause.

We expect graduates to display the utmost respect to all speakers and program participants.  Inappropriate behavior (bubbles, water balloons, beach balls, etc.) by graduating seniors will be addressed by escorts and staff members.  If inappropriate behavior continues, the disruptive graduate will be escorted from the graduation ceremony, and his or her diploma will be withheld until a later date. It is our sincere desire that this will not occur.  We do not want anyone to be embarrassed.

GRADUATION PHOTOGRAPHS

Littleton High School Graduation Portraits- This year, we will be working with Lifetouch Shutterfly for graduation portraits at our commencement ceremony. Lifetouch will photograph our graduates and 3-5 days after the ceremony the portraits will uploaded to a Shutterfly site. You can access the images using this link: https://link.shutterfly.com/ax5XlQ5uFfb

DIPLOMA PICK-UP

During the ceremony, students will receive the cover of their diploma.  Actual diplomas will be distributed near the tennis courts after the ceremony.  Students will have gathered in this space prior to entering the stadium for their ceremony, and they will know how to return after they toss their caps.

CAP/GOWN DONATION

There will be a drop-off station near the tennis courts for students who wish to donate their cap and gown.  This is a great way to help another student in years to come.
