You should come to LHS dressed for the ceremony with your cap (including tassel) and gown on a hanger. Plan carefully! Administrators will send students home to change if their attire is not appropriate. In order for our graduates to make the best appearance as a group and participate in the ceremony, we reauire the following:
shirts with collar (no tank tops)
dress pants, dresses (no jeans or shorts)
dress shoes - flats are best (no flip-flops, tennis shoes, hiking boots)
Graduates are asked to leave all personal items with a family member or in their vehicles, as no items, including cell phones, are to be carried with them at the rehearsal or the ceremony. We will have boxes for car keys but will not be responsible for purses, cell phones, or other bulky items.
REGALIA
Littleton High School recognizes the diversity of our student body and wants our students to be able to proudly display objects of cultural or religious significance at our graduation ceremony. All graduation participants must wear a standard Littleton High School approved cap and gown to participate in the graduation ceremony. Students may decorate their cap at graduation and/or wear adornment that respectfully and appropriately reflects their culture or religion. Littleton High School administration reserves the right to prohibit a graduate from wearing or displaying anything that is controversial in nature, or likely to cause substantial disruption of, or material interference with, the graduation ceremony. If an item is deemed by an administrator to cause a disruption or be controversial, the student must remove the item in order to participate in the graduation ceremony. Items will be returned to students following the graduation ceremony.
There will be a senior class meeting held on Wednesday, May 1st with all seniors to review appropriate regalia and what is acceptable for the graduation ceremony. What is not permitted? Anything that is controversial or offensive in nature, political, racist, disruptive, lewd or profane, cultural appropriation, or coded language/acronyms. If an item is deemed by an administrator to cause a disruption or be controversial, the student must remove the item in order to participate in the graduation ceremony. Administrators will briefly check all students before walking out to the ceremony. Any item that is not allowed will be returned to the student following graduation. A substitute cap or gown will be provided to the student, so that they are able to participate.
