(August 2024) Ground movement on track and field. Currently investigating causes and solutions; all activities can still safely take place.

(June 2024) Track repairs will start mid-June. Expansion joint between track and concrete repair will be scheduled.

(May 2024) Track resurfacing to mitigate existing ponding is scheduled for summer 2024. Certificate of Occupancy has been obtained.

(March 2024) Ticket booth, huddle camera projects have been completed.

(January 2024) Final punchlist items being worked on.

(November 2023) General contractor is continuing to work on punch list and minor items noted by the State to obtain full Certificate of Occupancy. Landscaping along Colorado Blvd is underway (irrigation, sod, and trees).

(September 2023) Temporary Certificate of Occupancy has been granted to LPS; contractor is continuing to work through punch list items. Rework of some concrete is underway.

(August 2023) Both buildings' punch walks have been completed. Landscaping, bleachers, track and field are nearing completion.

(May 2023) Building B (field house) finishes are being installed. Building A (concessions and press box) is in final stages of interior drywall. Bleachers are nearing completion. Turf is being rolled out; track surfacing will begin in a couple weeks. On schedule to be completed 2023.

(April 2023) Building B (field house) has interior painting underway. Interior lights will go up in here after ceiling paint. Restroom and locker accessories will be installed after lights. Building A (concessions and press box) has ongoing MEP rough-in. Window installations beginning later this month. Concrete pouring for bleachers is underway. Infield turf work has begun, and track surfacing is scheduled for May.

(March 2023) Building B (field house) is progressing. Sidewalks around that building have been poured. Building is dried in (windows and doors installed). Metal Cladding on building exterior is being installed. Building A (press box): structural steel and deck is ongoing. Interior mechanical, electrical, and plumbing rough-in is in progress. Bleacher wall work has begun. Overall site work: retaining walls are completed, fencing is progressing. Artificial turn installation is planned for April and track surfacing will follow that (planned for May). Schedule completion date is summer 2023.

(December 2022) New post-tension track is poured and fully "stressed" (cables are tightened to ensure concrete stays secure and doesn't crack). Field house near the bus lane has walls up, and roofing has begun. Interior MEP rough-in is underway. The building is going to be dried-in soon! The building for the concessions and press box has a slab poured and the exterior work has begun. Retaining wall installation for this building is scheduled to begin before winter break. Still on-schedule to complete project early summer 2023.

(November 2022) New track is formed and being prepped for concrete and rebar. Concrete will cure over the winter; topping will be applied in spring 2023 and infield turf will be laid in the spring. The field house is scheduled to be dried in by the end of the month. The concessions and press box building's foundations are being poured along with the building slab. Foundation for the bleachers may be poured by the end of the month. On schedule to be completed by summer 2023.

(October 2022) New track will start being formed; stadium lights are standing. Concrete will cure over the winter, topping is scheduled to be applied in spring 2023. The field house is being built, and the foundations for the concessions and press box are being poured. Scheduled for completion in summer 2023.

(August 2022) Safe access to Newton Middle School is the highest priority right now. Permanent fencing will be installed, and sidewalks for safe passage have been poured. Construction on the Junior Stadium will not impede student/family access to Newton Middle School. Underground utility work is underway, along with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing as some foundations are being poured. The parking lot is being worked on (some asphalt, curbing, and gutters). The Junior Stadium is still on-schedule for spring 2023 sports!

(June 2022) Demolition is in full-swing. Currently, work is concentrated on the north side gym/cafeteria/courtyard. Demo is scheduled to be completed by July 2022. Soil import and grading will begin mid to late June. Landscape designer is investigating whether some cottonwood trees along Colorado Blvd. might be impacted by site work. Still on schedule to deliver for spring 2023.

(April 2022) Demolition has started on portions of the old middle school building, and more demolition is scheduled to gear up in May. Project is still on-schedule for opening in spring of 2023.

(March 2022) Abatement continues to be an issue, but progress is being tracked daily. Permission from CDPHE to demolish the north part of the building is pending. Turf field design is in the finalizing phase, and the project is still on schedule to be delivered in spring 2023.

(February 2022) Abatement progress remains slow due to availability of certified abatement workers delaying abatement project to the end of March. Cost due to the delay caused by the abatement contractor will be back-charged to the contractor. The overally project is still on schedule to be completed by spring of 2023.

(December 2021) Bus road paving has started. Electrical pull box on the road will be relocated. Project is still on schedule to be completed in the spring of 2023.

(November 2021) Retaining wall backfill is in progress, and abatement in the old Newton Middle School is ongoing. There will be some changes to the bus entry to allow for utility work.

(October 2021) Construction of north road in progress to allow for bus access to Newton while Junior Stadium is under construction. Abatement is in pre-demolition phase for the old Newton building; anticipated abatement completion in January.

(June 2021) Fencing around the old Newton Middle School will be up by the end of the month. Abatement will take approximately 90 days. The schedule is currently on-track for a fall 2022 opening of the Junior Stadium.
