I grew up and lived in Iowa for the first 20+ years of my life. I attended the University of Northern Iowa earning degrees in Business Administration, Business Education, and a minor in Ethics. I moved to Colorado to start my teaching career, where I taught high school business classes, coached basketball, and was an advisor for Future Business Leaders of America. Upon earning my Masters in Administrative Strategy and Policy from the University of Colorado at Denver, I became an assistant principal and athletic director, before taking on the position of principal. I am happily married with three amazing daughters. As a family, we enjoy skiing, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. I am beyond excited to be joining the Powell Puma family.

I spent 10 years in Douglas County as a classroom teacher and as a Professional Learning Specialist. I have been fortunate enough to wear many hats over the past few years as the Gifted and Talented Facilitator, School Assessment Coordinator, and Read Act Coordinator. In my spare time, I love attending and watching sporting events. I also enjoy camping, fishing, and attending concerts with friends.

Education: I completed both my Bachelor’s in Secondary Social Studies Education and a Masters in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis at the University of Missouri, where I also acquired my principal's licensure. After college, I moved to Kansas City where I taught middle school social studies before moving to Colorado and joining the LPS community in 2021. I am also currently pursuing my doctorate from CU Denver in Executive Leadership. Throughout my time in education, I have had the pleasure of coaching many sports and leading student council. I have also traditionally spent my summers leading teen trips or summer camps in various places across the country.
Bio: I grew up in a rural town in southern Illinois, but since moving to Colorado in 2021, I have been diving headfirst into any and all activities in the mountains. I am an avid distance runner and rock climber but will play or watch any and all sports. Camping and backpacking are also big interests of mine during the warmer months, and when the weather gets colder I crave getting out to go skiing. Apart from my active interests, I also love painting and writing in my spare time and will read any good book I can get my hands on, whether it be education forward or otherwise.
