Main Entrance: Buzz-In System

Through our security system, our Powell office staff will monitor students, parents and visitors arriving during the school day on camera. All external doors will remain locked throughout the school day and it is necessary for visitors to buzz in, state their purpose, show picture ID to the camera and check in at the Attendance Office upon admittance .  In the past, our front door was unlocked during school hours.  With the current buzz-in and security system, we will have windows at the start and end of the school day for students to enter and leave the building without having to buzz-in.  We will have the main entrance doors unlocked for special events like Honor Roll, Conferences, and Continuation.  In order to gain admittance during all other times, students, parents and visitors will need to follow the procedures below:

  • Press the button on the call box by the main entrance.
  • You will be greeted and addressed by a member of our office staff.
  • You will need to place your ID in front of the camera in order for it to capture a photo image.
  • If it is determined that you can be admitted, the door on the left will be unlocked briefly.
  • ALL parents and visitors must proceed directly to the Attendance Office to sign in and get a visitor's badge.  The badge must be worn while in the building.
  • We will continue to sign students in and out of the building in our Attendance Office.  Parents and guardians should bring a photo ID with them in order to sign a student out of school.

It is important for you to keep your Infinite Campus profile up to date with the people who have a legitimate reason to visit our school, especially those on your emergency contact list. This information helps us determine who can be admitted to our building, and who can/cannot pick up a student.

Your child's safety is our highest priority. These procedures do require additional time and patience on everyone's part.  We appreciate your understanding and your help in keeping our schools a safe place for students, staff, parents and community.
