After carefully monitoring the forecast for extremely low temperatures in the early morning hours, the decision was made to have a two-hour delayed start for all LPS schools on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. Jazz Band is a year-long activity and plays music in the Jazz style with opportunities for students to solo and improvise. It is open to 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students who have completed at least one year of formal band instruction. Rhythm section players (bass, guitar, piano, and drum set) must audition for the Jazz Band each fall. Please contact Mr. Eilert (deilert[at]lps.k12.co[dot]uc) to arrange your audition. Jazz Band will meet on Tuesday mornings, from 7:30 – 8:10 in Room 3025. Once a student has signed up for jazz band, it is expected that he/she will attend every jazz rehearsal and performance. Please notify Mr. Eilert in advance if a student must miss a rehearsal. Please remember, attendance at rehearsals is REQUIRED except in case of illness or emergency.
Jazz Band meets for the first time on Tuesday, September 03.
