The annual Littleton Public Schools District Chess Tournament was a huge success. Held at Newton Middle School, nearly 160 students in grades K-8 played five rounds of chess over the course of the tournament. A winner was named for each age division:
Kindergarten Highest Scorer—Levi Hartzell (Littleton Academy)
Kindergarten/First Grade Group—Noah Griffin (Hopkins Elementary)
Second Grade Group—Nicholas Un (Lenski Elementary)
Third Grade Group—Sean Yilmaz (Lenski Elementary)
Fourth Grade Group—Thomas Sweetman (Lenski Elementary)
Fifth Grade Group—Aiden Johnson (Runyon Elementary)

In addition to their wins this year, Sean Yilmaz and Thomas Sweetman won first place in last year’s district competition. LPS would like to congratulate all the winners and participants of this annual event! A special thank you to all who helped with the tournament.
