Littleton Public Schools is proud to announce that EPIC Campus and Littleton High School senior, Evan Siler, has earned a coveted spot in the National Machining League Championship! Evan is one of only 16 students nationwide to qualify–and the only student from Colorado to advance.
The National Machining League competition saw over 100 talented students across the country participate, representing more than 40 schools. Each school could send up to three students, but only one competitor from each school could move forward.
As part of the competition, students were given four parts to manufacture using provided stock materials, drawings, tools, and computer files. The challenge required participants to set up tools, program their parts using STEP (CAD) files, run them on the machines, and perform quality inspections on their finished products.
Evan’s success is a testament to his dedication and the skills he’s developed through the EPIC Campus Aerospace Pathway. Now in his second year in the program, Evan has taken courses such as Intro to Space, Robotics, and CNC 1–the latter of which served as the foundation for his independent study work that led to this achievement.
Through his studies, Evan has gained valuable knowledge in design for manufacturability, material selection, CAD design, CAM programming, and CNC machine operation. These skills are essential for engineering and advanced manufacturing careers, where understanding both design and manufacturing processes is critical.
Congratulations to Evan Siler for representing EPIC Campus and LPS with excellence and distinction. Best of luck in the upcoming National Machining League Championship!
