Your Voice Matters! Data Reports from the LPS School Climate Survey Now Available

Thank you to everyone who participated in the 2024–2025 LPS Climate, Safety, and Wellness Inventory (CSWI), including 7,638 students (Grades 3–12); 2,100 family members; and 1,022 LPS employees. The valuable input provided by participants helps the district to create and maintain safe, welcoming, and healthy school communities.

Why does LPS gather this anonymous feedback?

Research supports the idea that a safe and supportive environment is a key factor in success for students, employees, and families. The CSWI survey gives a voice to our school community and allows us to identify areas of strength and improvement across a variety of areas in Littleton Public Schools. The data serves as an important tool to help our school teams develop annual improvement plans, outreach programs, and professional development; our student leadership groups to empower students to be a part of solutions; and for our district teams to identify areas of needs and support for students, families, and staff. The Board of Education reviewed the results of the 2024–2025 CSWI at the regularly scheduled meeting on February 27, 2025.

What are some of the important findings?

  • The family survey response rate is nearly twice what it was in the previous family survey.
  • Families report a 93 percent favorable perception of school climate.
  • School staff and families are much more favorable about the new cell phone policy than students.
  • Elementary and middle school students who reported having their own cell phone showed less favorable scores in the survey categories Health & Wellness and Teacher/Student Relationships.
  • Students are reporting high levels of Supportive Relationships (94 percent of students in Grades 3–5; 87 percent of students in Grades 6–8; and 84 percent of students in Grades 9–12).
  • Stress Management and Healthy Relationships are the top areas students would like to learn more about at school
  • Subgroup data continue to show specific trends. For example, students who are involved in extracurricular activities have a more positive perception in most all areas measured.
