LPS to test emergency notifications in most schools during spring break

Littleton Public schools will conduct important system testing in its schools over spring break. Testing will occur at school sites Monday, March 27 through Sunday, April 2, 2017.

Upgrades are being made to the mass notification system in LPS schools. The mass notification system (or intercom system) has flashing lights and broadcasts messages inside and outside LPS schools. The messages and flashing lights will be activated during this testing and programming period.

Anyone near LPS schools during this testing process will be able to see and hear various notifications, which will include: lockdowns, secured perimeters, evacuations, directed response, tornado watches and warnings, and lightning alerts. Please know that these are tests only.

The upgrades are important and help us keep our students and staff safe. We thank the LPS community for passing the 2013 bond, which makes these improvements possible.
