LPS Joint PTO Scholarship Fund Awards Grants to Teachers

Each May, the Littleton Public Schools Joint PTO Scholarship Fund awards grants to support continued professional growth for teachers. These grants help teachers pay for special training or classes towards an advanced degree. The funds are a result of a joint enterprise between the Parent/Teacher Organizations (PTOs) of all LPS schools.

This year, 14 teachers from across the district were awarded scholarships. LPS Superintendent Brian Ewert presented recipients with their Joint PTO Scholarship Fund grants during a reception held Wednesday, May 11, 2016.  The 2016 recipients are:

  • Mindy Allen – Highland Elementary School
  • Kayla Cederstrom – Runyon Elementary School
  • Matthew Davis – Peabody Elementary School
  • Leigh Goerke – Powell Middle School
  • Lary Kleeman – Arapahoe High School

The LPS Joint PTO Scholarship Committee’s objective is to improve instruction for students by helping to support motivated, excited and skilled teachers that continue to learn and grow professionally. The fund was founded in 1958.
