Warriors win 5A state boys soccer championship

The Arapahoe Warriors boys’ soccer team won the Class 5A state championship by defeating Grandview 2-1 at Dick's Sporting Goods Park November 9, winning the title for the first time since 1997. The game was tied with 12 minutes to go in regulation when Noah Carl scored the winning goal to secure the win.

Arapahoe (17-1-2 overall ) started the tournament as the No. 8 seed in the field, but beat top-seeded and undefeated Fairview in the first round and won a shootout over defending state champion Broomfield in the semifinals.
Arapahoe allowed only one goal the entire tournament, which came at the hands of Grandview during the state title game. This was Arapahoe’s 6th soccer title and their 9th championship appearance.
