The Innovation and Pathways Division and the Office of Blended and Online Learning recently announced Mauri Capps as a recipient of the 2016 Online Blended Educator Recognition Award. Mauri serves students in grades 6-12 in Littleton Public Schools’ Voyager Online Program. The online and blended educator recognition award is presented to individuals who have demonstrated strong evidence of the impact they have on student achievement and growth in their schools.
“Mauri connects with students from the moment they start the Voyager Online Program. Mauri's sensitivity and compassion for each individual student's situation allows her to connect with students and parents so that they feel safe when accepting her help,” states the Colorado Department of Education’s announcement. “Through Mauri's efforts, the number of students enrolled in concurrent enrollment courses has doubled and student attendance rates have increased.”
Mauri and the other award recipients were recognized at the State Board Meeting on Wednesday, May 11, 2016.
