Field Teachers Named State-Level Finalists for Presidential Award

The Colorado State selection committee for the 2016 Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST) program selected Field Elementary School teachers Lindsey Gunderson-Hahn and Sarah Ogier as State-level finalists.

“Each application submitted by a State-level finalist is forwarded to a national selection committee composed of science educators, teachers, and past awardees who will meet in Washington, DC, to select the PAEMST awardees at the national level,” said the official letter to Superintendent Ewert regarding their selection. “The teachers chosen to be PAEMST awardees will be notified by The White House, and will receive $10,000 and be honored at various ceremonies.”

Both Superintendent Brian Ewert and LPS Board of Education President Jack Reutzel have expressed their congratulations to Gunderson-Hahn and Ogier for this prestigious honor. National finalists will be notified in months to come.
