Several LPS kitchen staffs brought their finest gingerbread creations to the 5th Annual Nutrition Services Gingerbread House Contest for judging in the ESC foyer on December 11. While the entries started from a basic gingerbread kit, the baking artists were encouraged to apply their decorative skills and creativity. The final designs included a gingerbird house, a lighthouse, an eagle’s nest and a gingerbread school facing demolition from a wrecking ball. The entries did need to be edible in their completed form - because the works of art were eventually shared with students and eaten at their respective schools.

Winners in the 2019 LPS Gingerbread House Contest were (l-r): 1st Place - Options Gingerbird House; tied for 2nd were Franklin (top middle) and Field Lighthouse (bottom middle); and the Heritage Eagle Nest took 3rd place.
