East Elementary and Ralph Moody Elementary will combine in the 2023–2024 school year into Little Raven Elementary School. Throughout this current school year, students, staff, and parents have been getting to know each other through shared PTO and accountability committee meetings, evening events, and on Friday, April 7, 2023, students from both schools joined each other to create a piece of art that will hang in their new school building.

Each student traced their hand, added their name to the print, and then colored it in according to their own personal preference. Each handprint will be cut out, and much like all these students are going to mesh together to form one community at Little Raven, their handprints will all be combined into a colorful art display in the new school. Each student has a place at Little Raven, and each hand will add to the beautiful mosaic display.

Students also had the opportunity to play together at shared recesses by grade level, making some new friends and establishing a foundation for relationships to come.

Everyone is excited, and these investments in establishing the Little Raven school community will no doubt pay off when the new school opens this fall!
