Every year the Operations, Maintenance and Construction department hosts a "Spring Fling" for our custodial department to celebrate their work and improve their training with team building exercises.
Our LPS custodial teams are the unsung heroes in our buildings - the maintenance professionals that make good things happen in our schools. They work in the background of our busy days keeping our schools clean and organized. They are the first to arrive and the last to leave. They are shoveling snow in the dark so the sidewalks are clear before anyone else arrives, and putting away chairs after the evening events adjourn. They climb the ladders to replace light bulbs, clean the spills, wax, shine and sweep the places we walk and work. Their efforts are readily apparent to everyone who uses a classroom, cafeteria, hallway or playground - and their pride is reflected in the cleanliness and professional appearance our schools.
This year, “Shine Awards” were given to acknowledge our custodians extra effort in various categories that include:
Congratulations to all of the 2019 Shine winners, and thank you to the custodian staff members around the district for your hard work and dedication to our students!
