Littleton Public Schools has received the Gold Level Workplace Health Achievement Index recognition from the American Heart Association (AHA), and was listed as a 2019 Gold Recognized Company in the November 30, 2019 issue of Forbes Magazine.

The American Heart Association has defined best practices for employers to use in building a culture of health for their employees in the workplace. Implementing best practices as outlined by the AHA is just one of the many ways in which the LPS Wellness Department (Zagoren and Janet Walworth) works to make Littleton Public Schools a healthy environment for staff and students.

The American Heart Association’s Workplace Health Achievement Index measures the extent to which the company has implemented those workplace health best practices. Companies recognized at the Gold Level have achieved an Index score of 175 - 217 out of a maximum 217 points.

More than 1000 companies completed the Index assessment this year and, of those companies, 75 percent received either Gold, Silver or Bronze recognition. Companies receive benchmarking reports, which allow them to identify potential areas of improvement so that they can advance their annual performance and recognition in the Index and help their workforce move toward ideal heart health.
