Ralph Moody Elementary School was voted as "Best School: Littleton" for Colorado Community Media's 2019 Best of the Best awards!
Ralph Moody Elementary was selected by readers of the Littleton Independent newspaper to be a Best of the Best recipient following an online survey conducted by the newspaper’s parent company Colorado Community Media. For over 20 years, Colorado Community Media, the publisher of the Castle Rock News Press, Arvada Press, Centennial Citizen, Englewood Herald, Highlands Ranch Herald, Lakewood Sentinel, Littleton Independent, Lone Tree Voice, Parker Chronicle, Westminster Window, Wheat Ridge Transcript and 10 other local community newspapers holds their annual Best of the Best contest. The contest is 100% reader nominated and voted for, as readers choose the Best of the Best.
The school, named after author Ralph Moody, opened in 1953 and is one of the oldest schools in the LPS district. Moody’s book series "Little Britches" recalls his childhood and the flavor of the farming community of Littleton between 1906 and 1912.
