LHS Teacher Recognized by Boettcher Foundation

The Boettcher Foundation’s Teacher Recognition Awards Program will honor David Decker, a teacher at Littleton High School. Nominated by 2015 Boettcher Scholar Kelly Dinneen, Decker will be recognized for his significant contribution to Kelly’s growth and education as a student at LHS.

Decker holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Denver and a Masters of Education degree in Business and Marketing from Regis University. He came to Littleton Public Schools after working in the private sector for ten years. He teaches Computer Science and Business Marketing in the Career and Technology Education Department at Littleton High School.

Additionally, Decker is the school’s sponsor for DECA, a Career and Technical Student Organization that focuses on marketing education. His students regularly make a strong showing at the DECA state competition and this spring, LHS DECA students placed in the top ten at the national competition. Decker is also the men’s and women’s varsity diving coach. He was named the Colorado Boys Diving Coach of the Year in 2003 and the Colorado Girls Diving Coach of the Year in 2007.

A dedicated teacher, coach and mentor, David Decker will be honored by the Boettcher Foundation at a ceremony in July. He will also receive a $1,000 grant from the foundation to be used for an education program or project benefitting the students of Littleton High School.
