For the last two months, Powell's PTO has been sharing their plans to have LPS Superintendent, Brian Ewert, visit us at Powell. PTO is pleased to announce that the date is finally confirmed. Brian will join us on Monday, March 28, at 7pm, in the Powell Cafetorium. The title of Brian’s presentation is “ Colorado’s Constitutional Entanglements and the Impact on School Funding.” The evening promises to be an interesting forum for parents to better understand the school funding challenges, ask questions, share ideas and learn ways to get involved. We know that we have a very engaged group of parents at Powell and we hope to have a full house on March 28. Please spread the word to your friends and plan to join us.

If time allows, Brian will also be willing to answer questions from parents regarding LPS. As many of you may know, Brian is in his first year as LPS' Superintendent, so we hope that you will take this opportunity to get to know him. Brian has 29 years of experience and came to LPS after being superintendent in Englewood Public Schools. Brian was named the 2015 Colorado Superintendent of the Year by the Colorado Association of School Executives for providing leadership in adopting a common instructional model, setting clear expectations, and building community support for Englewood Public Schools. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from the University of Nebraska, a Master's degree in School Administration and Leadership from California State University. Come get to know Brian and learn more about the important topic of school funding.
