This fall, the Pride of Littleton Marching Band and Color Guard from Littleton High School wrapped up their most successful (in terms of scores and placement) season ever in the school’s history with their regional win and sixth place finish at the state competition.
Rehearsals for this season began in June. The dedication of these students to their craft means they willingly dedicate much of their time over summer break to practice. This means hours in the hot sun, memorizing your music, and combining playing with complicated movement. This season, there were 90 students in the Pride of Littleton Marching Band and Colorguard.
The Colorado Bandmasters Association (CBA) held a metro regional competition, which took place at Echo Park Stadium in Parker. 26 bands were invited to compete at regional competitions. From those 26, 20 bands progressed to the state competition. The Pride of Littleton took first place at their regional competition and qualified fifth overall for the state competition, placing them automatically in the semi-finals round.
The state competition was held at the US Air Force Academy Stadium on October 29, 2022. Eight bands made it to the finals round, and the Pride of Littleton took home sixth place!
What a wonderful culmination to a season of dedication and hard work! Congratulations to all 90 students and to Mr. Don Emmons, the instrumental music director at Littleton High School.
