LPS Student Recognized in CDHE Future Educator Honor Roll

Adisa Smajic, outgoing senior from Littleton High School and an LPS early childhood education concurrent enrollment student, was selected for the Colorado Department of Higher Education's (CDHE) Future Educator Honor Roll and was acknowledged at a virtual ceremony on May 5, 2022.

In celebration of Teacher Appreciation Week, the ceremony recognized outstanding students from Colorado's educator preparedness programs. CDHE Executive Director, Dr. Angie Paccione, gave remarks, as did Colorado Department of Education's Dr. Katy Anthes, Colorado Teacher of the Year Autumn Rivera, and Governor Jared Polis.

Adisa Smajic was nominated by Littleton Public Schools Teacher Cadet/Early Childhood Education instructor, Laura Alsdorf, who said, "[Adisa] truly is one of the best and brightest who will make a top quality teacher with her creativity, talent, love for children, and her deep belief system rooted in the value and equality of all people." Adisa has said, "I believe that I can support and encourage students in any way they may need. I have a desire to be a part of a larger community of those helping our future generations."
