LPS in the Annual Western Welcome Week Parade

Littleton Public Schools participated in the annual Western Welcome Week parade on Saturday, August 21, 2021. LPS participants included the Board of Education, district administration, staff and families from each school, and cheerleaders, dancers, marching bands, and color guards from Arapahoe, Heritage, and Littleton high schools.

Western Welcome Week (WWW) is a decades-old community celebration in Littleton that includes over 40 events. Hosted by the nonprofit organization, Western Welcome Week, Inc., WWW brings awareness to local vendors and organizations. It fosters the sense of community that makes Littleton such a great place, and LPS is honored to be able to participate.

LPS was officially founded in 1889, and WWW was founded in 1928. WWW’s current records of LPS’s participation don’t go back to their inception, but executive director Cindy Hathaway said, “I would feel safe saying that the school [district] has been involved for most if not all of the 92 years of the parade.”

Littleton Public Schools is proud of this relationship with the greater Littleton community!
