LHS Launches Early High School @ Littleton High for Accelerated 8th Graders next fall

Beginning next fall, 8th graders who are ready for high school level instruction can get a jump-start on their high school experience. The Early High School @ Littleton High program is designed for 8th grade students who excel in the arts, technical fields, math or sciences.

8th graders who are ready both socially and academically for a greater challenge will have the opportunity to take a combination of 8th grade and high school classes, take academic prerequisites earlier and make room for more International Baccalaureate (IB), Advanced Placement (AP), concurrent courses and Career/Technical Education courses. It is not designed to graduate students early; rather it is intended to give students with the interest and ability the opportunity to explore additional pathways to their futures. Early High School @ Littleton High opens in the fall of 2017, and now is the time for interested 7th graders to apply!

A unique experience for 8th graders
8th graders will take classes alongside Littleton High School students but will convene for a daily Humanities block consisting of the state-required language arts and social studies curricula. 8th graders will have a sequestered, closed-campus lunch for additional support and socializing. They can participate in school clubs and activities, but not athletics sponsored by the Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA).
