Several students from Heritage High School, along with high school students from across the state, attended the Student Leadership Strand of the Colorado Association of Schools Boards annual convention in early December. Throughout the convention, the group of high school students had unique opportunities to learn about and to discuss public education. Among other events on their schedule, students had the chance to meet with the convention’s keynote speaker, Shannon Poulin, vice president and general manager of Intel. The group also provided feedback to current Colorado school board members on critical public education issues from a student perspective. Additionally, Heritage High School senior Elise Laws served on a student panel in one of the general sessions.
