Over the summer, Heritage High School artists took part in the 17th Annual Denver Chalk Art Festival. Attracting 220 professional artists and youth groups, the event was held on June 1and 2 in downtown Larimer Square. Working on an 8-foot-by-8-foot square of pavement, the artists were judged on their finished piece, as well as their technique and interactions with festival-goers. Each square was sponsored by a small business, which makes the festival free for both artists and visitors.
