Heritage High School senior Ethan Nguyen has been awarded the Gold Level Graduating Seniors Award from US Figure Skating.
The Graduating Seniors Program of US Figure Skating recognizes student athletes who work hard to pursue figure skating while maintaining their academic performance. Figure skating “requires the same dedication, perseverance, and time management as any varsity sport. It is the goal of US Figure Skating to help ensure these student athletes are recognized for those skills.”
Awards are given in four categories based on competition and test achievements in all figure skating disciplines: Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze.
Each student receives a certificate, congratulatory letter, and lapel pin, and schools are given liberty to honor and recognize students as appropriate in front of their peers. Photos from such events are used online and in SKATING magazine to recognize schools who support their students’ passions and interests that extend beyond school.
A huge congratulations to Ethan! What a wonderful tribute to your hard work and dedication to both school and figure skating!
