Campus Security Magazine hosted a webcast on May 13, 2021 called, “Lessons from the Front Lines: A Conversation with School Safety Experts.” LPS’s assistant director of security, Mark Edson, was one of two school safety experts on the discussion. Prior to being assistant director, Mark was one of LPS's SROs since 2013. They discussed how school safety has evolved over the last 20 years, emergency response plans, protecting against a wide array of school safety threats, ways to improve safety plans and crisis response, and what parents need to know about school safety.
