32 LPS Seniors Earn Recognition from National Scholarship Programs

Thirty-two Littleton Public Schools seniors, from all three of the district’s high schools, have been recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Program and the National Hispanic Recognition Program for exceptional academic promise demonstrated by their outstanding performance on the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT), used for program entry. Four students were named National Merit Semifinalists, an additional 25 were named National Merit Commended Scholars and another three were named College Board National Hispanic Scholars.

To become a National Merit Finalist, students must not only have an outstanding academic record, they also must be endorsed and recommended by their principal. Candidates submit their SAT scores, a detailed scholarship application including an essay and submit information about their participation and leadership in school and community activities. Finalists will be notified in February.
