Each year, a Joint PTO Scholarship Committee awards scholarships to LPS educators. Each applicant has to submit two long-form essay responses: one asking how the course they will take will benefit LPS students, and one asking them to describe their teaching philosophy. Applicants must also have two reference letters submitted from students and/or parents as part of their application packet. The JPTO committee also requests information regarding the course, as scholarship grants are only available to courses that will be taken over the next 12 months.
This year’s JPTO scholarship recipients were honored at a ceremony on Tuesday, April 27.
