11th Annual LPS Poetry Slam

On November 9, 2021, families and community members gathered in a darkened gymnasium, facing a stage where student poets would shortly be sharing their words in a powerful, emotional, and raw event: the 11th annual LPS Poetry Slam.
Students from all LPS high schools participated in workshops with Jovan Mays, a national slam poet champion. They crafted and honed their poems, channeling their emotions into those stanzas. They practiced. And then they shared.
This craft is expressive and oftentimes healing.
All the poets did a fantastic job!
