The Village Preschool Awarded Highest Rating by Colorado Shines

The Village Preschool at Highland went through the Colorado Shines rating process last October and November. Principal Kim Bryant said, “I am pleased and proud to share that The Village at Highland received a rating of a 5, which is the highest rating awarded to a program by Colorado Shines!” The team at The Village worked hard to demonstrate policies, procedures, services, and educational experiences provided to students every day as well as their efforts towards parent, family, and community outreach. Director of preschool and elementary education, Kathleen Ambron, said, "This is well-deserved recognition of the outstanding early childhood education program provided at The Village at Highland. It is a testament to the hard work of all our Village staff. Our youngest learners benefit in countless ways from the expertise and care of our Village at Highland educators."

The Colorado Shines rating is based on the following criteria:

  1. Workforce qualifications

  2. Family partnerships

  3. Administrative practices

  4. Learning environment

  5. Child health

Colorado Shines “connects Colorado families with licensed, quality child care programs, like child care and preschool” (Colorado Shines website).
