The Littleton Public Schools Spelling Bee, hosted at Newton Middle School on Thursday, February 8, 2024, showcased an i-m-p-r-e-s-s-i-v-e array of talent, drawing 64 spellers from Grades 4–8 to vie for a chance to represent the district at the State Spelling Bee in March. Out of the invitees, 47 spellers participated, each having qualified as either their school's Bee winner, the written Bee winner, or one of the top scorers on the districtwide written test.

The event was graced by Littleton Mayor Kyle Schlachter, who excelled in his role as pronouncer, guiding the participants through six challenging rounds. The competition featured a variety of difficult words, including "incandescent," "planetesimal," "anicca," "fetticus," and "ullage." The final round was a nail-biter, with two students going head-to-head. Paige Williamson, a seventh grader from Euclid Middle School, clinched victory with the correct spelling of "Shiba Inu" and "punchy," securing her spot representing LPS at the State Bee.

Paige will advance to the State Bee alongside four alternates: Allaire Anderson, a sixth grader from Powell Middle School; Eleanor Fisher, a sixth grader from Littleton Academy; Samuel Leclaire, a seventh grader from Newton Middle School; and Quinn Hartley, an eighth grader from Littleton Preparatory.
