Littleton High School student Elissa Volling was named to the National Youth Orchestra. Elissa was selected from auditions submitted from across the United States. The National Youth Orchestra (NYO) is the nation's premier Youth Symphony Orchestra.
This summer, Elissa will rehearse with the National Youth Orchestra in New York City, working with professional symphony musicians from around the country before performing in Boston and at Carnegie Hall in New York City. The National Youth Orchestra will then depart for a tour of Europe performing in Germany, the Netherlands and Great Britain.
Generously supported by national corporations, the NYO is a tuition-free, all-expenses paid experience for their student musicians. Elissa is one of two string musicians selected from the state of Colorado this year and is the first violist to represent Colorado as a member of the NYO.
