AHS' Bob Sisler Named to National Wrestling Hall of Fame

Congratulations to Arapahoe wrestling assistant coach Bob Sisler for being named to the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in recognition of his leadership in the profession and his outstanding record. He will be recognized on May 11, 2019 at the Marriott Hotel in Colorado Springs.

Sisler began coaching at Arapahoe High School in 1975, where he was head wrestling coach for 29 seasons and assistant coach for the past 11 years. In addition to wrestling, he was the first girls’ track coach at AHS and held that position for 24 seasons, and assisted the track team for another decade. He was also an assistant AHS football coach for 31 years.

“Coach Sisler has been dedicated to the Arapahoe community for four decades. He has impacted thousands of teenagers in football, wrestling and track, in addition to his classroom. We often joke about how many bus rides he has been on! Well over 1,000!” said Arapahoe Athletic Director Steve Sisler, AHS head wrestling coach and also Bob Sisler’s son

Sisler was honored before the 2018 Warrior Invitational in December for his “Lifetime Service to Wrestling” and his selection to the Class of 2019 National Wrestling Hall of Fame.
