Quizbowl Team Takes First Place at Colorado State Championship
Congratulations to the AHS Quizbowl team for taking first place at the annual NAQT Colorado State Championship held at CU-Boulder. The team went through 10 rounds of intense competition and went on to beat rivals Fairview and Grand Junction. The team qualified for two different national championship tournaments and took home several awards. Team member Sanat Mehta and Team captain Matthew Yohannes placed 1st and 10th out of 56 players in the tournament. Other members include Izzy Branscomb and Lilly Doan who participated as well. NAQT is an academic quiz competition in which players are tasked to answer paced questions on multiple subject areas like History, Geography, Literature, Art, Philosophy, Entertainment, Mythology, Science, and Math.
