The Language Arts Department at Arapahoe High School is proud to offer a variety of college preparatory and elective courses. Students have the opportunity to receive college credit in three of our course offerings, including Composition I (College Composition), Introduction to Literature, and Humanities. In addition to these courses, college preparatory classes, as well as electives courses available to students. Most students follow the traditional path of 9th grade English, 10th grade English, American Literature (11th grade)  and English Literature or World Literature (12th grade). Elective course offerings are meant to spark different interests within writing, reading, speaking, and film. In addition to providing a variety of courses, students have the opportunity to join the MUSE. This academic organization provides students the opportunity to produce a literary magazine that showcases student work in visual arts, short stories, poetry and nonfiction.
