Urban Peak is a program here in Littleton and the Denver area that helps teenagers who are homeless or have been recovering from drug or alcohol addiction. Urban Peak gives them a bed, a set of clothes, some hygiene items and a chance to sign up for business classes in order to find a job. They provide training in many different software programs, as well as computer graphing and design courses. Student Council is helping Urban Peak by running a canned food drive, a clothing drive for nice, relatively new clothes, and fundraising for computer software purchases.
We are asking you to help us out next week—GO THROUGH YOUR CLOSETS AND SEE IF THERE ARE SOME NICE, RELATIVELY NEW CLOTHES THAT YOU DON’T WEAR ANY MORE AND BRING THOSE IN; BRING IN A CAN OF FOOD ON APRIL 26TH FOR THE CANNED FOOD DRIVE AND FINALLY, BRING IN YOUR CHANGE AND YOUR DOLLARS TO BUY A PEAK FOR THE “Pay for the Peak” campaign AND GET YOUR NAME AND STICKER UP ON THE WALL, PLUS A NUMBER OF OTHER WAYS YOU CAN HELP US FUNDRAISE. Check out this calendar for many other events happening next week and even the week of Prom and help us give a head start for some TEENS HERE IN LITTLETON!
