Lois Lenski Receives the John Irwin Schools of Excellence Award

These awards are given each year by CDE and are based on high CSAP scores. The award recognizes the top 8 percent of schools in Colorado that demonstrate the highest achievement. The award means that Lenski has exceeded expectations on the three-year school performance framework's indicator related to academic achievement and met or exceeded expectations on the indicator related to academic growth gaps. The schools awarded this prize demonstrate the highest levels of achievement not just for some students, but also adequate performance across all student groups. Lenski has received this award each school year since 2002.

We are an exemplary high performing school!

Lenski Parents,

I am happy to announce that Lenski has been selected as a 2013 National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence as designated by the U.S. Department of Education. This is the second time Lenski has been awarded this honor, which puts us amongst a very elite group of schools. The Blue Ribbon award acknowledges and validates the hard work of students, educators, families, and communities in striving for--and attaining--exemplary achievement. Lenski was selected for this award based on a comprehensive review of our achievements over the past five years. This award belongs to all of us because it is the combination of talented educators, energetic students, committed parents, and a supportive community and school district that make Lenski such an outstanding school.

I look forward to celebrating this honor with all of you throughout the school year.

All the Best,

Dr. Barb DeSpain
