Welcome to the Lenski Learning Garden
As you may know, last year's 5th grade Girl Scout troop created an organic garden on the west side of the school, with wonderful and generous support from Dr. DeSpain, Jean Vogel, and LPS facilities staff.
We hope you will consider this as an outdoor learning space and find ways to involve your students in experiencing the space that is THEIR garden!
We created the garden based on the Sandburg garden. They have been developing curriculum for the younger grades over the past 6 years, which they have generously shared with us.
We have a committee of parents who have offered to help to cultivate this space and help get as many students as possible to get their hands in the dirt! We will continue to recruit future Garden committee members through the PTO.
If you have ideas about how you would like to utilize this new resource, please contact me, Charlotte Brady. I will be the "Garden Coordinator" for this next year and then will pass the baton as the committee gets up and running.
PLEASE JOIN US:
**This coming Sunday, 10/9/16, the Girl Scout troop will be holding a brief Garden Dedication Ceremony at 3:30 pm near the garden followed by an informal reception, so feel free to join us to experience the garden yourself!**
Thank you for all you do!
Sincerely,
Charlotte Brady
