We will not allow any costumes that depict violence, unkind behavior, or costumes of a scary nature, i.e. witches, ghosts. Extremely "goulish" or very gross costumes or makeup are not appropriate. Please refrain from selecting these types of costumes. In addition, in an increasingly violent society we are very concerned about what children model in their costumes. As per Littleton Public Schools Policy JICI, "Weapons in School", no weapons or replicas of weapons will be allowed for costumes. Parents will be called to come to school to take home any inappropriate items. I ask that you be aware of how your child wants to dress and be involved in the selection of the costume, making sure that it is appropriate for an elementary school costume party. Thank you for your help in this matter. Let us make this a fun time for all.
Here are the guidelines the staff at Lois Lenski would like for you to keep in mind as you plan this day with your child:
Children should bring their costumes to school and not come to school in costumes or makeup (with the exception of kindergarten children).
We encourage you to have your child bring a costume that can be put on in the classroom with limited need for the privacy of the restroom or special help.
Because of high toxicity of colored hair spray, we ask that students not plan to spray their hair at school but may spray at home.
Thank you
