Each year, in celebration of Veteran's Day and Thanksgiving, Lois Lenski adopts an American soldier for the holidays.  This year, we are adopting Matt Easley, a Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve.   Colonel Easley grew up in Littleton, Colorado and attended Littleton Public Schools from Kindergarten through 12th grade.  He attended the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, and he received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Colorado at Boulder.  He and his wife Olga have three kids, Stasija 11, Vasha 9, Sucha 7.  Colonel Easley has strong personal connections to Lois Lenski.    His brother is Todd Easley, one of our fourth grade teachers.  Colonel Easley has six nieces and nephews, two of whom are Lenski students.  Claire Easley is in Mrs. Jones' 4th grade class, and Isla Easley is in Mrs. Cole's 1st grade class.

This November, Colonel Easley deploys to Camp Arifjan in Kuwait.  His job there is to manage the staff of the 335th Signal Command.  The Signal Command Unit engineers, installs, operates, maintains and defends all the telecommunication networks in the US Army's Central Command area of operations, which includes Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Afghanistan.  When he's not working for the Army, Colonel Easley is a senior systems engineer for the Boeing Company.

Please help us support Colonel Easley and the soldiers in his Unit at Camp Arifjan! The Thanking Our Troops Campaign runs from Friday, November 11th through Friday, November 18th.  We ask each Lenski student to write a letter of encouragement and support that will be sent to our adopted soldiers in Kuwait. See attached letter template.  We are also asking for the following specific donations to include in care packages:

Playing cards, Hacky sacks, etc.
