Gifted and Talented Program
Gifted and talented refers to those persons whose abilities, talents, and potential for accomplishments are so exceptional or developmentally advanced that they require special provisions to meet their educational needs. Identification of GT. intelligence is viewed as a dynamic, developmental, and multidimensional entity. Identification is necessary to assure appropriate programming. Multiple criteria are used to identify and assess student needs, including; observable behavior, achievement (standard test scores), interest, motivation, aptitude, and performance.
 
Programming & Classes that are offered here at Goddard are:
Honors Math by contract, 6th, 7th & 8th Grades
Honors Language Arts
Accelerated Math
Honors Science by Contract, 7th & 8th Grade
Spanish for High School Credit (must take Spanish as a 7th grader and again as an 8th grader)
6th Grade GT Seminar (3rd quarter)
7th Grade GT Elective (1st Semester)
8th Grade GT Elective (2nd Semester)
 
Goddard also offers a wide range of different clubs to challenge and enrich a student's potential.
 
We have three G.T. Coordinators, one for each grade level. If you have any questions about the GT program, please email them.
