Counseling Assistant - Julie Hopson, 303-347-7810

Role: Counselor for 6th grade (Mt. Evans and Mt. Antero) and all 7th Grade Teams.

Education: BA in English Education from the University of Iowa, Masters of Science in School Counseling from the University of Phoenix, Lone Tree, CO

Bio: This is my fourth year at Euclid and I am so excited to be here! I am originally from Iowa, but moved to Colorado in 2006.  Prior to working at Euclid, I was a middle school Language Arts teacher in Douglas County for six years, and school counselor in Iowa City, Iowa for two years. When I am not at Euclid, I enjoy spending time with my husband Chris and our daughters Lydia and Caroline. In our free time, we love to hike, swim, ski, and explore all that Colorado has to offer.

Ms. Morris and Mrs. Kolker are both very honored to be working with the students, staff and parents of the Euclid community! As counselors, we wear many hats and perform a variety of duties to best serve everyone. Many of our common responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Meeting with students individually to discuss social-emotional, academic, or career needs.
  • Running small groups throughout the school year with all three grade levels. Common groups we run each year are: friendship group, divorce group, and grief group.
  • Meeting with Core teachers bi-monthly to discuss students’ needs.
  • Meeting with parents to discuss their student’s social-emotional, academic or career needs.
  • Refer families to community resources when needed.
  • Working on maintaining and growing a positive culture and climate within our building.

Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have!
