A. Please email your FAQ-style questions and we will consider adding them to our list. Click here to submit your question and we will do our best to reply with an answer.
Q. How do I call in to report an absence for my child?
A. Euclid's Attendance Reporting phone number is: 303-734-6100 - Listen to the message and leave all information requested.
Q. What is the Falcon Feather program?
A. Falcon Feathers are earned by students as a way to develop leadership skills. It is a key part of the “Every Student A Leader” initiative - a leadership program that takes its cue from several sources, most notably “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens” by Sean Covey and “Key Elements of the Officer Development System” at the United States Air Force Academy.
All Euclid 6th, 7th, and 8th graders are invited to participate. The program promotes leadership in four layers: personal, interpersonal, team, and organizational leadership. Students earn Falcon Feathers in seven different leadership areas: Get Involved; Start with The End In Mind; The Choice is Yours; Put First Things First; Think Win-Win; Seek First to Understand, Then to be Understood; and Teamwork.
Q. What is a core?
A. Each grade level (6, 7, 8) is divided further into individual cores. Each core consists of teams of students and teachers. The core group learns the subject areas of math, science, social studies, and language arts during a block of time each day. Students experience quality instructional time in their core which creates a smaller community within the school. Students are assigned to a core for the duration of their grade-year. There are no cross-grade cores at Euclid.
Q. How can I find out about Bus Routes?
A. Call 303-347-4775.
Q. What time should students arrive and be picked up from school?
A. Students often come early or stay late at school for supervised activities. In order to maintain a safe and orderly environment, we ask that students only remain after school under teacher or parent supervision. The cafeteria and breakfast program is supervised beginning at 7:55 am. It is requested that all students waiting for a ride home be picked up by 3:45 pm unless they are staying for an after school supervised activity.
Q. What is the make-up homework policy for excused absences?
A. After an absence, it is the student' responsibility to request make-up assignments from teachers. Students should also check their teacher's web sites to see the assignment they missed. Students are allowed one day make-up for each day of absence. If a student is absent more than three days, make-up work may be requested by the parent by calling the attendance office. If make-up work is requested, it is due upon returning to school.
