The Learning Support Services Department at Heritage High School strives to promote student success, to foster student independence and self-advocacy, and to guide students towards successful transition to post-high school life. Together with the general education staff, counselors and administrators, we work as a team to provide the best possible academic experience for special education students at Heritage High School. Programming is individualized to meet specific student learning and social-emotional needs with the goal of developing skills that will allow students to successfully bridge the transition from high school to post secondary education, career employment and adult living.
Individual Education Programs:
All Special Education students have an Individual Education Plan (IEP) as well as a Case Manager. Case Managers will work closely with each student, as well as their parent/guardian(s) and teachers, to ensure their success while at Heritage High School.
Every student's IEP will be reviewed at least once a year during an annual review meeting. The purpose of annual review meeting is to discuss your student's progress, identify additional resources and/or interventions that may be specific to your child as a learner, as well as to identify measureable goals and objectives to help us monitor your students growth over the course of the school year.
