Student Council

Student Council is made up of two room representatives from the third through fifth grade classes, and four elected members from grades four and five. After the election in the early fall, the students meet once a month for the rest of the school year.

The main goal of Student Council is philanthropy. This past year we helped our community through the following projects: Coats for Colorado, food drive for Interfaith Community Services, game collection for Arapahoe Santa Shop and Pennies for Patients through the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Student Council is also in charge of the annual talent show. It gives the students a chance to enjoy leadership, friendships and helping others

Elementary Enrichment Class Information

Many LPS elementary schools after school enrichment opportunities. It is critical that parents understand the guidelines for enrichment classes offered by outside providers. Outside providers are independent contractors and thus not LPS employees.

  • Outside providers are responsible for all parent communication regarding the enrichment class.
  • Outside providers assume all responsibility for student registration, fee collection, attendance and discipline.
  • It is the responsibility of the outside provider to contact parents if a student does not show up for class.
  • The outside provider is responsible for student dismissal to a parent.
  • It is the responsibility of parents to share any health care needs of their child. Outside providers do not have access to medication stored at school. Parents must provide all needed medication. Enrichment providers do not receive any medication, first aid or HCAP training from LPS. Parents are responsible for communicating and planning for health care needs while their child is involved in enrichment activities sponsored by an outside provider.
  • As independent contractors, outside enrichment providers must complete the LPS Facility Use Agreement.
  • The school site determines when outside enrichment classes may be held and how much space is available for outside providers.
