We will be holding a PTO Special Vote by Ballot on new budget items. The vote will take place as part of a special meeting in front of the school from 2:45-5:30pm, Monday December 11, 2023. Parents may stop in to vote at anytime during the special meeting time. All votes will be in person by ballot Background: The PTO is expected to spend all funds raised in a year while maintaining $20,000 in savings. Due to COVID spending being below average and small amounts retained at the end of each year over the last decade, our current savings account has ballooned to over $130,000. With the current $130,000 balance, we can pay all previously approved budgeted expenses for this year, retain $20,000 in savings, and we still have $50,000 remaining. We are asking to spend that excess $50,000 now. This vote is to approve the list of Forecasted Spending items. As we raise more money throughout the year, we will continue to spend against this approved list. The items we are seeking to approve are: Interactive TVs for All Classrooms: $50,000 Music Shed for Music Room Storage: $5,000 Smart Lab Annual Fees: $10,000 Celebrate the Beat Continued Funding: $10,000 We, as a PTO, can already fund the Interactive TVs. If approved, 5th grade classrooms will have them installed in the very near future and all other grades will be installed over the summer. As our fundraising efforts continue we will fund items as soon as we have the money while following all rules of our bylaws. Please Vote YES to approve this very special budget adjustment! Thank you, The PTO Presidents Adrienne Thorpe and Josh Stewart
