Essential Duties

  • Plans instruction consistent with State Model Content Standards, district approved curricular learning/Individual Education Program (IEP) objectives and embedded district technology standards for assigned subject area(s)/grade levels.
  • Implements an instructional design to reach learning objectives through the IEP process.
  • Communicates effectively with learners.
  • Provides for and maintains student involvement during delivery of services.
  • Demonstrates appropriate selection, development, interpretation and use of quality assessment practices, processes and instruments that minimize cultural, gender or ethic bias.
  • Establishes a climate for learning.
  • Manages tasks and activities in a manner that maximizes service delivery.
  • Establishes clear expectations for student behavior.
  • Thinks systematically about professional practice and learns from experience.
  • Participates in collaborative efforts to improve the effectiveness of school staff.
  • Demonstrates consistent positive communication with parents, especially as it relates to the IEP process.

 

Education/Certification Requirements:

  • Minimum of 60 graduate semester hours for the preparation of school psychologists or social worker
  • Hold or be eligible to hold a Colorado Department of Education license
  • Hold appropriate endorsement(s) as school psychologist or social worker
  • Criminal background check required for hiring
